    9 Other than appealing to minimalists, this is useful in conjunction with something along the lines of [http://elide.org/widgets/linenumbers] - that's client-side javascript to dynamically add non-selectable line numbers. In other words, this lets you cut & paste code without bringing along the line numbers too.
