Other SCM backends do not work (at least Git)

Description

When using trac together with a git backend the revtree plugin does not work:

Trac detected an internal error: ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'e9fb0232cb191313eafd49b6e2d9a4450e7fa043'

It's be super cool if it worked with Git. +1

I don't use Git and I have no resource (and no plan) to support Revtree with another SCM backend.

However, patches are welcomed. I'm not sure it could be done though.
