RFE: Copy (template) topic

Description

It would be useful to be able to copy a (template) discussion topic, including the tree of messages.

(We have certain recurring events that we want to discuss. These discussions always require the same top level messages to give a "structure" to the discussion. Copying a prepared template topic would make this a lot easier.)

I don't understand what it is good for entirely. Could you give me an example how the template should look like?

Example topic template: Sprint Planning Meeting

Example: A scrum team wants to do a weekly "Sprint Planning Meeting" and keep the notes in a discussion topic.

The notes would look roughly similar each time. For example maybe there should be an attendance list and a "sprint backlog".

One could then prepare such a generic discussion topic template. (See attached screenshot.) Each time a meeting is actually held, copy the template topic to create an actual topic for the meeting. Reply to or edit the generic template messages to add the actual content of this meeting.

(I realize this might be a bit out-of-scope for a general discussion webapp. But since this plugin is for Trac, which focuses on team development workflows etc., I thought maybe this might still be appropriate.

I also realize there are other plugins specifically for Scrum. The example is just that, an example. There could be other events unrelated to Scrum that a team might want to discuss regularly with a recurring agenda/structure.)

OK, I see now. This can be done as a separate plugin dependent on DiscussionPlugin or component that adds a WebAdmin page and uses DiscusssionPlugin's API component to add topics and messages. Since there are more general features that should be implemented, I'm giving this low priority.

FWIW we don't use this plugin anymore, so feel free to close as WONTFIX.
